Do I need to be an 8(a) or set-aside firm?
No. While 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, and HUBZone firms have specific sole-source thresholds that create natural pathways, any vendor with proprietary technology or unique capabilities can pursue sole-source awards through a Justification & Approval (J&A) process under FAR 6.302. What is a UEI and where do I find mine?
A UEI (Unique Entity Identifier) is the 12-character alphanumeric ID assigned to every entity registered in SAM.gov. You can find yours by logging into SAM.gov or searching your company name in the SAM.gov entity search. If you've done any business with the federal government, you have one.
What if I don't have past government contracts?
